POSITIONS AVAILABLE:
Japanese Language Lecturers (1 Full Time & 1 Part Time)
The Japan Foundation, Los Angeles (JFLA) invites applicants for our full-time and part-time lecturer positions in
Japanese language.
With our many years of experience and achievements in Japanese Language Education, JFLA has been offering
Japanese language courses in Los Angeles since 2012. The courses will be based on “JF Standards”, which was
developed by our Headquarters in Japan. We are seeking applicants who are passionate towards Japaneselanguage education through “JF Standards” as well as those who will be proactively involved in JFLA activities.

Full-time lecturer (This position will be effective June/July 2014)
Responsibilities:
 Teaching classes and curriculum and instructional material development;
 Administrative tasks related to Japanese language courses (Not limited to teaching);
 Working five days per week including weekends (Full-time, 35 hours per week);
 Managing and assisting to other lecturers;
 Collecting data or research on Japanese-language education in the United States;
 Attending various conferences, training sessions and events, and making presentations in JapaneseLanguage education;
 Collaborate with JFLA staff for additional relevant events and activities;
Qualifications:
 M.A or a higher degree in a field related to Japanese-language education;
 At least three years of Japanese-language teaching experience (private lessons or TA experiences and not
included);
 Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese and English;
 Appropriate visa status to be able to legally work in the United States;
 Flexibility and ability to teach both language and culture preferred;
 Cooperatively perform non-teaching duties related to Japanese language education in the U.S.
Salary:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience based on The Japan Foundation’s rules and regulations.
Part-time lecturer (This position will be effective in September, 2014)
Responsibilities:
 Teach up to two classes per week (assignment may include evening and/or weekend hours);
 Be actively engaged in the Japanese language courses, curriculum, and instructional material development;
 Collaborate with JFLA staff for additional relevant events and activities.
Qualifications:
 M.A or a higher degree in a field related to Japanese-language education;
 At least three years of Japanese-language teaching experience (private lessons or TA experiences are not
included);
 Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese and English;
 Appropriate visa status to be able to legally work in the United States;
 Flexibility and breadth to teach both language and culture preferred.
Salary:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience based on The Japan Foundation’s rules and regulations.

国際交流基金ロサンゼルス日本文化センター（JFLA）は、日本語講座常勤講師（1名）及び非常勤講師（1名）を
募集します。
JFLA では、日本語教育における長年の経験と成果をもとに、国際交流基金本部において開発された JF スタンダ
ードに準拠した日本語講座 JF Nihongo を 2012 年より実施しています。本募集では、日本語教育に対する熱意を
持ち、JF スタンダードに意欲的に取り組んでいただくとともに、JFLA の事業に積極的に協力して下さる日本語講
師を求めています。

常勤日本語講師（2014年6月もしくは7月頃採用予定）
業務内容:







日本語講座における授業の実施、及びカリキュラムや教材の作成
講座運営に係る業務全般（授業だけでなく、運営に関する事務作業を含みます）
週末を含む週5日の勤務（フルタイム、週35時間）
非常勤日本語講師の指導及びサポート
全米の日本語教育に係る状況の調査
学会や研修会、イベント等への参加、及び日本語教育に関わる発表の実施（国内・国外出張を伴います）
JFLAの様々なイベント実施に係る諸業務
応募資格:
 大学院修士課程を修了した者、またはこれと同等以上の学歴を有する者
 日本語教育に3年以上従事した経歴（個人教授を除く）を持つ者（日本国外で日本語教育に従事した経験のあ
る者が望ましい）
 日本語及び英語がネイティブレベルもしくは同等レベルの者
 米国で働くことができるビザを所有している者
 日本語及び日本文化を教えることができる者
 協調性があり、日本語教授以外の日本語教育支援全般に渡る諸業務を担える者
待遇:
国際交流基金の規程に基づき、各人の学歴・経験等に従い給与を支給します。
非常勤日本語講師（2014年8月頃採用予定）
業務内容:
 日本語講座における週に約2クラスの授業実施（担当するクラスによりますが、土曜日、もしくは平日夜を予
定しています。）
 日本語講座に係るカリキュラムや教材の作成補助
 その他日本語講座のイベントへの参加

 大学院修士課程を修了した者、またはこれと同等以上の学歴を有する者
 日本語教育に3年以上従事した経歴（個人教授を除く）を持つ者（海外で日本語教育に従事した経験のある者
が望ましい）
 日本語及び英語がネイティブレベルもしくは同等レベルの者
