President of the Swiss Confederation, Didier Burkhalter, will launch the “SWISSDAYS,” a multifaceted four day event held at Roppongi Hills Arena from February 6 to 9, 2014. The Embassy of Switzerland in Japan is pleased to invite the public to join this 4-day festival featuring Swiss culture, food, music and scenery. On the program are performances by well-known artists and a demonstration of “Schwingen”, the traditional Swiss wrestling, during which guests will have a chance to test their skills against real wrestlers. In the main arena, visitors will have an opportunity to sample authentic Swiss cuisine and drinks, and enjoy the many attractions on offer at the various promotion and shopping booths set up by Swiss Days’ sponsor companies. The main attraction will be the big-screen 3D projection mapping display, which will showcase impressive alpine panoramas and a side of Switzerland that remains virtually unknown in Japan. The opening ceremony of “SWISSDAYS” will also feature the inauguration of special commemorative stamps issued jointly by the Swiss Post and Japan Post.
