南洋理工大学より、学部生を対象とした ASPIRE Undergraduate Research Academy の案内が届きまし
たので、下記の通り学内募集を行います。今回募集する本リサーチ・アカデミーへの参加について、学内選考
を行います。
本リサーチ・アカデミーは、ASPIRE リーグ加盟大学（香港科技大学、韓国科学技術院（KAIST）、南洋理
工大学、清華大学、及び東京工業大学）の学生を対象として開催されるものです。

11．学内選考 面接により推薦者を決定する。4 月 28 日（月）午後 3 時以降を予定しているので、予定をあ
けておくこと。最終的な参加決定は、主催大学が行う。
12．備考
学内選考通過者については、以下の事項に対し留意すること。
＊「誓約書（様式あり。署名者：本人及び保証人等）」を提出すること。
＊大学の指定する海外旅行保険（保険会社は原則として、東京海上。補償内容は、治療・
救援費用が 3,000 万円以上、個人賠償責任が 1 億円以上とすること。）に必ず加入する
こと。
＊危機管理サービスに加入すること、その費用について海外渡航者が一部負担すること（１
週間で２４５円程度）。

1. Background
The UG Research Academy was proposed by Prof. Er
Meng Hwa of Nanyang Technology University (NTU) at
thelastASPIREForum,heldon12‐13July2012atKorea
Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST),
Daejoon.Duringthesharingsession,Prof.Erhighlighted
the challenges facing Asia in the 21st century, which
includes continued expansion of population, the rise in
incomeoffamiliesduetofasteconomicgrowth,andthe
overall impact of human activities on physical
environment producing multiple environment crises
neverwitnessedbeforeinhistory.Prof.Erbelievesthat
Asia’s voice for science and technology cannot be
underestimated. The ASPIRE League (Asian Science and
Technology Pioneering Institutes of Research and
Education),aconsortiumestablishedin2009,isaimedat
forming a hub for innovation in Asia through the
advancement of science and technology and the
development of human resources, thereby contributing
to the realisation of a sustainable world. The ASPIRE
League has set out to promote academic exchange of
students and researchers by establishing a network of
world‐classscienceandtechnologyuniversities.ThisUG
ResearchAcademyisthusproposedforthispurpose.



The Academy is an enrichment programme for
undergraduate students who are currently doing a
research project which is energy and sustainability
related; and may cover technical, physical, social,
economic, political, environmental or business aspects.
Thestudentswill:
 learnfromexpertsthelatesttechnologiesrelatedto
renewableenergy;
 presenttheirresearchprojectswiththeobjectiveof
sharing knowledge with their peers from other top
technologicaluniversities;
 network with energy and environment experts and
students and gain relevant soft skills such as
communication;and
 learnfromcasestudiesonfieldtrips.

Theme of the UG Research Academy: Sustainable
Energy and Environment (water, energy, climate
change).
Identify 5 undergraduate students from each
university who are working on supervised research
projectsrelatedtotheabovetheme.
The students from the respective universities will
come together to exchange research findings
throughtheAcademy.
Eachmemberuniversitymaytakeaturnhostingthe
Academy. All local cost 1 incurred (transport,
accommodation,visitsandfood)willbebornebythe
hostuniversity.

Excludesfoodandpersonalexpensesincurredbystudentsduring
Free&Easytime. NTU is pleased to host the first UG Research
Academyandbearthelocalcostfor4nightsstay.
Students are strongly encouraged to take up travel
insurancefromtheirhomecountrytocovermedical
